Marriage, from a biblical perspective, is a covenant relationship between the husband, the wife and God. From a secular perspective however, it is a legal contract between the husband, the wife and the state. Since we are followers of Christ, our main objective is to do things that are pleasing to God and to walk in the way He has ordained for us to walk; upright, holy, and pleasing to Him.
As we go through our lives, we see examples of what marriage is and based on what we see or think, we accept marriage as such. Some of these examples may be biblically based marriages. Others, however, may be based on modern cultural expectations and not based on godliness and love.
